The Supremacy of Christ
At the heart of Colossians is one of the highest views of Jesus in all of Scripture. He is not one option among many — he is the one in whom, through whom, and for whom everything exists.
The text makes four claims about Jesus:
- He is the image of the invisible God (v. 15).
- In him all things were created and hold together (vv. 16–17).
- He is the head of the church (v. 18).
- Through him God was pleased to reconcile all things (vv. 19–20).
Take it home this week
- What competes with Jesus for first place in your life right now?
- What changes if Christ truly "holds all things together" — including the thing you're worried about?
