What we believe

The historic Christian faith, anchored in Scripture.

These are the doctrinal convictions that shape every part of life at Cedar Ridge Church. Each is rooted in Scripture — God's word being the foundation of everything we do.

  1. 01

    The Bible

We believe the Bible — the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments — to be the inspired, authoritative word of God, sufficient for every matter of faith and life.

  2. 02

    God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in power and glory.

  3. 03

    Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to the Father, and will one day return.

  4. 04

    The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer at the moment of salvation, empowering us to live for God, grow in Christlikeness, and serve the church and world.

  5. 05

    Humanity

We believe every human being is made in the image of God and is therefore inherently dignified — and that every human being is also broken by sin, and unable to save themselves apart from grace.

  6. 06

    Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is the free gift of God, not earned by any work, religious activity, or merit of our own.

  7. 07

    The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ — the people of God gathered locally to worship, hear the word taught, practice baptism and communion, and serve one another and their neighbors.

  8. 08

    The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will personally and bodily return to gather his people, judge the living and the dead, and make all things new.

The longer version.

The statements above are how we summarize our convictions on the public site. We'd be happy to send you our longer Statement of Faith, the church covenant, or our bylaws — and to talk through any of it over coffee.
