About Cedar Ridge
Ordinary people, learning to follow Jesus together.
Our story
A church that wants to feel like home.
Cedar Ridge Church began in 2004 with a few families meeting in a living room in Glenwood, praying for a church where their neighbors would feel genuinely welcome. Two decades later we're a congregation of about 250 people from every season of life — students, young families, empty-nesters, and folks who are simply curious about faith.
We gather every Sunday to sing, hear the Bible taught plainly, pray for one another, and share a cup of coffee in the lobby. The rest of the week we try to live what we heard — in small groups, around dinner tables, and out in the community we love.
You don't need to dress up, know the songs, or have your life figured out. Whether you've followed Jesus for fifty years or you're not sure what you believe yet, you are genuinely welcome here.
Come as you are — we'll save you a seat.
We meet at 1820 Ridgeline Drive, Glenwood, OR 97402 — Sundays at 9:00 AM. Classic service — hymns, choir, and teaching. We also gather Sundays at 11:00 AM. We'd love to see you.
What we believe
The historic Christian faith, in plain language.
These are the doctrinal statements as they appear on the church homepage, each rooted in Scripture. A longer Statement of Faith is available on request.
- The Bible
- We believe the Bible — the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments — to be the inspired, authoritative word of God, sufficient for every matter of faith and life.
- God
- We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in power and glory.
- Jesus Christ
- We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to the Father, and will one day return.
- The Holy Spirit
- We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer at the moment of salvation, empowering us to live for God, grow in Christlikeness, and serve the church and world.
- Humanity
- We believe every human being is made in the image of God and is therefore inherently dignified — and that every human being is also broken by sin, and unable to save themselves apart from grace.
- Salvation
- We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is the free gift of God, not earned by any work, religious activity, or merit of our own.
- The Church
- We believe the church is the body of Christ — the people of God gathered locally to worship, hear the word taught, practice baptism and communion, and serve one another and their neighbors.
- The Return of Christ
- We believe Jesus Christ will personally and bodily return to gather his people, judge the living and the dead, and make all things new.

The people you'll meet on a Sunday.

Pastor Mark Sullivan
Lead Pastor
Mark has served as Lead Pastor of Cedar Ridge since 2011. He loves teaching the Bible in a way that connects with real, ordinary life, and he's happiest when a Sunday sermon turns into a conversation around someone's dinner table that week. He and his wife, Becca, have three kids and a stubborn golden retriever named Moose.

Tyler Brooks
Youth Pastor
Tyler pastors our students in grades 6–12 and runs Wednesday Youth Night. He's convinced teenagers can handle the real thing — honest questions, real friendships, and a faith that holds up. Off the clock you'll find him at a trailhead or coaching the church softball team.

Megan Pruitt
Kids Ministry Director
Megan directs Cedar Ridge Kids, from the nursery through 5th grade. A former elementary school teacher, she's built a Sunday morning that's safe, joyful, and genuinely fun — and she knows nearly every kid in the building by name. She and her husband, Dave, have been part of Cedar Ridge for over a decade.

Anita Rao
Office Administrator
Anita keeps Cedar Ridge running — the calendar, the bulletins, the building, and the thousand small details no one sees. If you call or email the church, she's the warm voice on the other end. She's usually the first to know what's going on and the first to lend a hand.

Elders
Shepherding the church together.
Every meaningful direction the church takes is decided by our elder team together — pastoral and lay leaders working alongside each other. These are the people who currently serve.

James Whitaker
Elder · Retired high school teacher
James has been part of Cedar Ridge since its early living-room days and has served as an elder for more than a decade. A retired high school teacher, he brings patience, perspective, and a deep love of Scripture to the elder team. He also hosts the monthly Men's Breakfast.

Karen Foster
Elder · Nurse practitioner
Karen is a nurse practitioner who has cared for the Glenwood community for over twenty years. On the elder team she has a particular heart for the hurting and for families walking through hard seasons. She and her husband lead a Tuesday-night small group in their home.

Denise Okoro
Elder · Small business owner
Denise owns a small bakery downtown and has served at Cedar Ridge in nearly every volunteer role over the years before joining the elder team. She brings wisdom, candor, and a steady focus on caring well for the people in our pews.
